Realising The Ambition

Call for Abstracts – Deadline 30th September

After the success of the inaugural event in 2022, SPE Aberdeen’s Geothermal Seminar will return in February 2023.  Building on the content of the last event and the opportunity it provided to explore the role of geothermal in the energy transition, this year’s event will delve deeper into realising the ambitions of the sector.

The Seminar will feature a combination of case studies, panel sessions, and technologies and will be relevant to a broad range of people from energy professionals, thought leaders, those looking to transition, to those just eager to learn more.

The call for abstracts is now open and will close on 30th September 2022.

The conference committee are inviting potential speakers to submit a 200-word abstracts to be considered for either a 20-minute presentation or a 5-minute “Techbyte” presentation.  For further details on the broad range of themes we are hoping to cover as well as available sponsorship opportunities, please see the Call for Abstracts Flyer available here.

We are interested in hearing about your case studies and lessons learned, innovative technologies, and experiences within Geothermal.  The aim of this event is to share knowledge and advance the industry as we work towards the Energy Transition.

Full payment of the event rate you have selected must be paid in advance of the event day or you will be asked for payment on registration. If payment is not received then you will not be granted entry to the conference.

We recognise that on occasions delegates will book onto events and subsequently find that they are unable to attend. In these situations we ask that delegates notify us of their need to cancel an event booking as soon as possible.

Our cancellation policy is as follows:

Please send cancellation details to the event organiser by email or by telephone.

Please inform the event organiser if you wish to send a replacement delegate, including their requirements (e.g. dietary, access etc). Please supply their full contact details so that any advance paperwork can be supplied directly to the replacement.

If you notify the organisers of your cancellation up to two weeks prior to the event, we will provide a full refund.

If you notify the organisers of your cancellation less than two weeks prior to the event the full cost will be payable and only delegate substitution will be allowed.

Where you have booked a place and do not attend without notifying the organisers of your cancellation the full fee will be payable.
