Call for Abstracts

Pumps and Pipes UK is a new conference which brings together the oil & gas, medical, space and aerospace industries through interlinking technologies and systems. It builds on a similar event that has run in Houston for a number of years.

The conference will include speakers from all three industries who will discuss the ground breaking potential of technologies such as robotics and imaging, as well as the capabilities of big data analytics and energy harvesting / management.

Collaboration is a powerful tool, and our aim is to encourage conversations between the three industries at this unique conference. By exploring the possibilities and considering the potential applications in each industry, we can all work better, faster and towards the technological advances required to undertake tasks previously seen as impossible.

We invite proposals from companies and individuals who would be interested in presenting their case studies and experience. Companies and individuals are invited to submit a 200 word abstract on any one of the following themes. Companies and individuals will only be expected to deliver a presentation – you are not expected to write a paper if your abstract is accepted.  The four main themes of the event are:-

  • Robotics
  • Imaging, sensing and detection
  • Big data sets, data analytics and artificial intelligence
  • Power harvesting and management in remote locations

As well as presentations, we will also accept proposals for 5 minute techbyte sessions and posters if these options are more suitable.

Abstracts are now open and will close in October 2018. To submit your abstract, please contact aberdeen.events@spe-uk.org or call the Events Team on 01224 646311.
