AI4Energy Workshop
Practical Applications in Your Job Today
20 November 2025
Join SPE Aberdeen and the SPE Data Science and Engineering Analytics (DSEA) for our second workshop on an exploration of artificial intelligence's real-world impact across the energy sector. As the industry navigates digital transformation amid operational pressures and evolving market dynamics, distinguishing between AI hype and genuine value has never been more critical.
This workshop aims to discuss proven AI applications that drive measurable improvements in operational decision-making or processes. We'll explore how energy companies are embedding AI into daily operations, moving beyond pilot projects to scaled applications. We'll also discuss how AI tools are being integrated into everyday workflows—automating report generation, streamlining data analysis, and eliminating manual, repetitive tasks that historically consumed valuable engineering time. We will share real world examples, both the good and the bad.
Equally important, we'll address the hard-earned lessons from AI initiatives that missed the mark. Many organisations have discovered that AI without robust data foundations or understanding its limitations, leads to disappointing results and wasted investment.
Speakers will share candid insights on their applications of AI, common misconceptions, implementation challenges, and successful (and unsuccessful) approaches to achieve measurable value from AI.
