SPE Aberdeen Energy Exchange Hub - Fireside Chat in Collaboration with RGU Student Chapter.
A Petroleum Engineer ~ Transitioning to CCUS ~ 2028 President of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Solution | People | Energy
…we are often looking for the right pathways as students in this exceptionally challenging environment. The drive to ‘The Energy Transition’ picks up pace so what are our future career pathways for those graduating as Petroleum Engineers and other forms of engineering.
The RGU Student Chapter in collaboration with the Energy Exchange Hub are hosting an event to share the working life experience of Ian Phillips who has over 35 years of experience in the upstream oil and gas sector and the energy transition, Ian has built a distinguished career spanning both traditional and emerging energy industries.
He holds a Masters in Petroleum Engineering, and an MBA, and has recently been named as the 2028 President of SPE, Solutions | People | Energy, leading a global professional body in the energy sector.
This ‘Fireside Chat’ will share Ian’s career journey where students and young professionals can champion their questions on how we can build careers in both traditional and emerging energy sectors. How do we transition across within engineering sectors; how important are organisations such as SPE to young engineers as they forge their own career pathways.
