Seismic 2027
Underpinning the Energy Future
21 – 22 April 2027, Ardoe House Hotel, Aberdeen
Call for abstracts now live – deadline 27 November
Seismic is a leading and unique event in Aberdeen, hosting two days of technical talks exclusively focused on seismic and geoscience across the energy lifecycle. Seismic 2027 will show how geophysics underpins the energy future; showcasing technical foundations that are shared across industries, from oil & gas to carbon capture and storage, offshore wind to geothermal.
Our primary focus is bringing the geophysical community together, to renew and build our cross-industry network. Seismic 2027 is a fantastic opportunity to showcase new technology, share lessons learned, influence industry practise and communicate case studies, in a supportive and curious environment of peers.
We welcome case studies, technology examples and lessons learned from any basin or region: submissions drawing on experience outside the North Sea are just as welcome as familiar UK and Norwegian examples. Do you have case studies or technology examples to share with our audience? We invite you to submit a 200-word abstract for consideration for the 2027 conference programme. Please submit any geophysical paper you believe will interest our audience, even if they fall outside the listed themes, for review by our technical committee.
This year’s call for abstracts is broken down into five main themes outlined below:
Including early-stage processing, borehole geophysics, VSPs
Including FWI, migration and velocity modelling
Including quantitative interpretation (QI), 4D seismic, modelling and visualisation
Including gravity, magnetics, microseismic, DAS and CSEM
AI will be present across all themes. It’s inclusion as an additional standalone theme reflects its growing prominence across our industries
Submissions are welcome from all energy sectors including oil & gas, CCS, offshore wind, and geothermal. The themes above are intended as a guide rather than a strict fit.
