Deadline for Abstract Submissions – 17th July 2026
The well intervention landscape is evolving. Industry data continues to demonstrate strong economics, with the UKCS delivering 37.5 million barrels of oil equivalent annually through interventions and a compelling cost of just £9.60 per barrel. Targeted well intervention remains one of the most powerful tools for extending field life and maximising recovery from existing assets. Yet to minimise any decline in activity, the industry must act together.
This year's conference will focus on how proactive intervention delivery, and stronger industry collaboration can unlock restoration potential across the basin. We will explore how well intervention activity supports not only near-term production, but also long-term decommissioning outcomes, well integrity, and basin stewardship.
We invite abstracts on themes including:
- Well restoration and reinstatement
- Industry collaboration and stewardship
- Data-driven candidate selection and intervention planning
- Well integrity, sustained casing pressure, and safety
- Cost reduction and efficiency in a volatile market
- Technology development and innovation in well intervention
- Emissions reduction and low-carbon intervention approaches

Companies are invited to submit abstracts of no more than 200 words for presentations lasting 20 minutes or for 5 minute ‘Techbytes’ (shorter sales-oriented pitches) Download the flyer on the right ➡️ then visit the Abstracts Page here to submit your abstract.

"Last year’s keynote saw senior Operator leaders outline ambitious plans to ramp up intervention activity in 2026. This year, I’m eager to hear how those plans have delivered—new technologies deployed, successful applications of existing tools, stronger partnerships, and more barrels unlocked. The SPE/ICOTA European Well Intervention Conference continues to lead the way with high quality technical content, strong operator engagement, and outstanding exhibitors—all at exceptional value at less than half the cost of equivalent industry events."
