Offshore Achievement Awards 2026: Celebrating Excellence!
March 2026
Gabriela Carvalho, Vice Chair for the People and Culture Committee, gives us her roundup of a fantastic event!
'This event is more than a ceremony; it’s a celebration of the people, innovations, and transformative work that continue to reshape our industry.
The awardees fully deserve the recognition they received. Being nominated alone is a testament to the impact they’ve made through technology, process improvements, and unwavering dedication. For those who were honoured, it marks a milestone that reflects years of commitment and contribution.
But what struck me most deeply was something beyond the awards themselves. It was the joy of coming together—friends, colleagues, partners—united by a shared mission to build a better, more resilient future for our sector. We are creating an extraordinary community, one that lifts each other up, celebrates progress, and supports the systems that allow innovation to thrive. Seeing a colleague on that stage feels personal, because their success is woven into the fabric of our collective journey.
A heartfelt thank you to the organisers for curating such a meaningful event, to the wonderful hosts who guided the evening with grace, and to everyone who joined us to celebrate this remarkable moment. Nights like these remind us why we do what we do—and why we do it together.'
Hosted this year by Ron Donachie (of Game of Thrones and Tutti Frutti fame, among many other accolades), and entertained by Kevin Quantum and Heartland, the OAAs are SPE Aberdeen's way of celebrating outstanding achievements in the energy industry. Rewarding innovative technologies, growth in companies both large and small, and the significant contributions of individuals within the industry, the OAAs give recognition to the superlative achievements of those who go above and beyond in the energy sector.
