OEG

OEG is building pathways from military service to renewable energy careers. As a gold-level Armed Forces Covenant employer, OEG provides veterans with tailored training, one-to-one support, and instruction from ex-service trainers. Their Bootle training centre offers over 30 accredited courses, from GWO to IRATA certifications, combining classroom learning with hands-on experience. In 2025 alone, more than 2,600 delegates achieved 6,050 industry-recognized certificates. To date, 74 veterans have been certified by OEG, with the majority progressing into industry roles. This is more than skills development—it's a commitment to inclusive workforce development and meaningful long-term careers.

PBS

PBS has embedded continuous learning across their organisation. Over 260 employees, 98 percent of the workforce, completed 1,578 technical assessments, ensuring Connected Competence compliance and enabling rapid deployment. Their pioneering wind turbine cross-skill pilot encourages mobility between oil and gas and renewables, reinforcing expertise and behavioral safety. Partnerships with Coursera, computer-based training, leadership programs, and enhanced apprenticeship initiatives demonstrate PBS's holistic approach. By investing in both existing and emerging professionals, PBS strengthens not just their own workforce but the long-term safety, adaptability, and resilience of the wider energy industry.

NORTH EAST SCOTLAND COLLEGE

Scotland's largest Energy Transition Skills Hub has arrived. Officially opened by First Minister John Swinney, this state-of-the-art facility features a welding academy, advanced manufacturing zone, and digital training suites designed for a low-carbon future. The Hub's 'Energy on the Move' vehicle travels to schools across the North East, inspiring the next generation. From welding and renewables to digital technologies, learners gain hands-on, industry-led training for the jobs of tomorrow. This isn't just a building—it's a commitment to the future, positioning North East Scotland College as a catalyst for regional growth and a driver of Scotland's Net Zero ambitions.

ITHACA ENERGY

Ithaca Energy is building an agile, future-ready workforce through continuous learning and internal mobility. Since 2023, they've supported 67 internal moves and transitioned 56 contractors into permanent roles, retaining critical knowledge while reducing costs. Employees pursue qualifications from diplomas to master's degrees and access over 149 development opportunities. Their flagship LEAD program delivered over 2,400 hours of front-line manager training in 2025. Combined with structured graduate, internship, and apprenticeship programs, Ithaca's integrated skills framework addresses immediate needs while building a sustainable talent pipeline—positioning their people as a true competitive advantage in a dynamic energy landscape.
